Job overview

Subject Lead for Biology

MPS/UPS & TLR 2b

Start Date - September 2024

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of Biologists?  Do you possess a deep understanding and enthusiasm for the subject?  Join us at Oaks Park High School, where we are excited to welcome a dedicated and passionate Subject Lead for Biology to join our team.

At Oaks Park High School, our students and staff work hard to ensure the best academic outcomes.  Last year the percentage of students achieving Biology 9-4 and Biology 9-5 at GCSE were significantly above the national average, giving us a positive Progress 8, including for disadvantaged students. As a result, A-Level Biology is a popular choice in our Sixth Form, with increasing numbers of students going on to study Biological Sciences and Medicine at university.

In addition to our drive of delivering the best possible results for students, we have strong pastoral care strategies to best support our students and their families.

If you would like to be part of this forward thinking and ambitious school community, we eagerly anticipate receiving your application.

What We Offer:

  • Oversubscribed 11-18 mixed comprehensive school with 300 students per year group (Year 7-11) and approx. 400 students in the Sixth Form.
  • Highly regarded for outstanding pupil behaviour and a purposeful learning environment
  • A positive, high-performing Science department with a proven track record of exceptional outcomes across the full range of qualifications.
  • Professional development opportunities to support your career advancement.
  • Access to excellent modern facilities that enhance the learning experience.
  • An ambitious and supportive multicultural community that keeps our child-centred philosophy at the heart of everything that we do.
