This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role supporting a lively, enthusiastic and forward-looking department.

The role of the Biology Technician is critical in supporting the safe delivery of experiments and practical activities within Biology lessons in order to optimise teaching and learning. The role involves working closely with the Head of Biology and the Senior Technician. 

The job primarily involves preparing, setting out and clearing away equipment and materials as well as managing resources. You will keep up to date with health and safety protocols in the department and ensure that the latest advice is adhered to within the department. 

You will be responsible for ordering stock and the maintenance of the department inventory. You will also help to oversee the budget alongside the Head of Biology. 

You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team, demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving skills. You will have a passion for education and science and be committed to supporting young people in their studies and their personal development. Additionally, we encourage members of the department to share their interests with the students through co-curricular clubs and team teaching.
