Boarding Chef

An exciting opportunity has opened at Saint Felix School. We are looking for a Chef to join our talented catering team and become one of our Boarding Chefs. This is a great opportunity for anyone with a hospitality or catering background to work in our fantastic school.

This is a permanent full time position. You will be working 5 days from 7 per week. The days of work are Sunday to Thursday. Hours are 10 – 8 on Sunday with 11 – 8 Monday to Thursday.

Saint Felix School is an independent co-educational day and boarding school for children aged from 2 – 18, located close to the glorious seaside town of Southwold on the Suffolk coast. Our aim is to develop well-rounded students with the skills and the personality to make a success of their lives during and after their school years.

We are looking for a Chef who will be able to produce, maintain and present high quality food in conjunction with the kitchen team. At Saint Felix you will be involved in food preparation based in our main kitchen, dining hall and refectory. Providing a service to needs of School staff, day pupils, boarding pupils and visitors during term time. During the school holidays there will be requirements of events & lettings.

As our Chef you will be required to work as part of a team to help achieve the overall aims of the school. You must lead by example with a hands-on approach and contribute to our small team. We are looking for a dynamic chef who will be heavily involved in the whole kitchen team.          

The school kitchen is a busy operation offering a food service to over 450 staff and pupils seven days a week during term time and for commercial letting that takes place outside of term-time. The team is comprised of Chefs, Catering Assistants and Kitchen Porters. As a team you will be responsible for delivering high quality food from raw ingredients in both the dining room and 6th Form Refectory Café.
