Boarding Houseparent

Bede’s Prep School is an academically ambitious school that seeks to provide a broad and affirming base for its pupils. The School is a thriving IAPS Prep School which caters for children from Nursery to Year 8. 

The School’s catchment area for day children extends to a large part of East Sussex and our boarding house welcomes children from further afield within the UK as well as from abroad, in a converted family home with views across the English Channel.

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Boarding Houseparent who will provide exceptional pastoral care for up to 30 boy and girl boarding pupils aged between 10 and 13. 

Boarding at Bede’s – weekly and full – is intrinsic to the kind and supportive family atmosphere of the School, so you will need to have a clear understanding of the pastoral care required in a boarding community. Flexibility and commitment to a residential boarding post are essential requirements.

This role can be filled either as a non-teaching or as a teaching post, with a reduced academic timetable. If successful, you will be expected to contribute to the wider life of the School and have proven experience in pastoral provision, with the ability to inspire, excite and motivate pupils.
