As a Brick Technician in the Department of Construction and Technology, you’ll share your practical trade skills in workshop sessions and help support teachers prepare for their sessions by providing technician support.

Your expertise is crucial to the future generations of professional tradespersons gaining the practical skills needed to be successful and your experience and passion for the industry will help inspire our students as they push themselves to become expert.

We value our staff, and recognise that whilst working in education is an ambition of many tradespeople, it can seem daunting to jump straight in as a teacher. That is why this role offers a Level 3 Learning Mentor NVQ as part of the free training you will receive. You will feel supported to develop your delivery skills; you’ll learn how to plan a practical session, how to check your students’ progress and explore exciting ways of helping young people to learn.

Alongside your own personal Mentor, the Construction and Technology Team is filled with supportive colleagues that will help you to grow as an educator and help you take your first steps towards a rewarding career in education.

This role requires a minimum of a Level 2 technical qualification and there is an expectation that you complete your training with the commitment and dedication you’d expect from your own students.

We look forward to you becoming part of the Construction family at Calderdale College.

Calderdale College is committed to the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  Appointments are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
