We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented practitioner who has taught Drama to examination level and who has experience in the delivery and the assessment of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, or a keen willingness to add this to their professional development.  This new post is a result of the expansion of the BTEC Performing Arts courses offered at the school as sixth form students can follow either an Acting or Musical Theatre Pathway.

You will have a background in Acting/ Drama and you will teach elements of your specialism to students.  You will be responsible for devising and delivering BTEC Units, assessing students, and working with a team of specialist practitioners recruiting and selecting future students.  There will also be an opportunity to teach across different age ranges, with the possibility of some GCSE classes in order to foster professional development. You will be an efficient and effective administrator, be able to evidence first-class teaching and have the skills necessary to help design a curriculum that will inspire and challenge some of the most talented students in the country.

You will be joining a thriving, Performing Arts Department, working alongside dedicated members of staff teaching Dance, Drama, Music, Musical Theatre and Expressive Arts. Our Level 3 BTEC course in Musical Theatre has been running for four years and our results have been absolutely outstanding.  This post provides an excellent opportunity for a specialist colleague who is enthusiastic, energetic, forward thinking and passionate about supporting talent and innovation in the Performing Arts.

This post is an important appointment in the Pupils Department within Arts Educational Schools London, and the successful candidate must have a balance of professional and academic skills in order to ensure that the work of the school remains amongst the very best in the United Kingdom.

The Arts Educational Schools London, is an independent secondary school and higher education provider based in Chiswick, West London.

The Arts Educational Schools have their origin in schools founded in 1919 by Grace Cone and in 1922 by Olive Ripman. The Cone and Ripman schools were pioneers in providing  talented children with a general academic education in conjunction with specialised training in dance, drama, music and art, preparing young men and women for professional careers in or connected with the theatre. In 1939 the two schools amalgamated to become the Cone Ripman School.

Today ArtsEd continues to support a world–renowned,co-educational, independent vocational school for pupils aged 11–18 years as well as a professional conservatoire, with two main divisions, offering BA and MA degrees in Acting and BA, and MA degrees in Musical Theatre, all of which are validated by City University and accredited by Drama UK.

ArtsEd is extremely proud of its outreach programme which is central to their commitment to ensure inclusivity across everything they do. Building strong links with youth groups, colleges and sixth forms, ArtsEd aims to provide talented young people with a clear pathway to vocational training and to introduce them to the unique energy and welcome of ArtsEd.
