Facilities

Southern Cross College operates out of four modern campuses, with cutting-edge resources to support the teaching and learning programs. Thee are three primary campuses at Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point, whilst another Scarborough campus serves the students from Years 7 to 12.

Facilities at each site include all-purpose halls, indoor and outdoor sports courts, a swimming pool, state of the art laboratories and media rooms, and an abundance of the latest technology equipment, all dispersed amongst modern, buildings and immaculate gardens, playing fields and playgrounds.

Curriculum

The formal, explicit curriculum at Southern Cross College is the planned, taught and assessed learning of students, while the informal or implicit curriculum is inherent in the relationships, interactions, practices, processes, systems and structures that surround learning.

Southern Cross Catholic College strives to provide all students with a seamless and coherent program of learning from Prep to Year 12, and as such, their curriculum builds on students' prior knowledge and experiences, becoming increasingly more complex and abstract and provides authentic contexts for learning, as students journey through their schooling.

The development of literacy and numeracy skills is key to all learning within the college and is therefore a  curriculum focus. The achievement and progress of all students is tracked and monitored in these areas, with ongoing communication between teachers, support teachers and parents.

School ethos

Southern Cross Catholic College seeks to be a Christian community of lifelong learners, committed to nurturing the gifts and potentials of its members as they aspire to growth in knowledge, love and service in the presence of God.
