Job overview

18 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

As we move into an exciting new phase at Academies Enterprise Trust (AET), we are seeking to appoint Building Operations Assistants to join our new structure which came into operation September 2017.

The new structure consists of a Building Operations Supervisor supported by Building Operations Assistants who provide site services to our academies. Our cluster areas are made up of a mixture of phases with our largest cluster being 6 academies.

This is a part time post (18 hours per week) and there is some flexibility over the days of the week you will work. This role will cover both Utterby Primary Academy and North Thoresby Primary Academy.

If you want to be part of a network of academies that is passionately committed to inspiring children and young people, this role could be for you!

As an enthusiastic, proactive, customer focussed organised individual you will ensure that our academies function safely and effectively on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, be highly motivated, organised, full of initiative, and common sense, with a proven ability to work effectively under pressure, dealing with multiple tasks to meet time deadlines. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and relate well and build positive relationships with staff and key stakeholders.

As  the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, pension scheme and childcare vouchers.

This position is due to commence as soon as possible.

Closing date:  Sunday 29 July 2018.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.  All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application.

In line with our safeguarding practices we are unable to accept CV's.

We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts. This post will be subject to enhance checks as part of our Prevent duty.

About Utterby Primary Academy

Welcome to Utterby Primary Academy, a school with enormous potential and one where I am proud to lead. Utterby has the ambition, the expertise and the students to become an outstanding school. Join us and be part of this journey!

Here at Utterby Primary we share a special and unique learning community with our partner school North Thoresby Primary Academy, and we are proud to serve the village of Utterby near Louth, and surrounding areas. Our staff commute not just from Louth, but from Cleethorpes, Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire.

I have been at North Thoresby and Utterby for six and a half years, having been Head for a year and a half, and I am proud to say that I have enjoyed every one of them! I am fortunate to have a dedicated staff team to ensure that all the children make the best progress they could possibly make and, that all students attending the Academy, whatever their back-story, have access to the very best educational experiences possible.

If you want to work in a village setting with wonderful well behaved children, supportive leadership and tailored professional learning opportunities then we want to hear from you!

The children benefit from smaller than average class sizes, a teaching assistant in each class to help support with maths and literacy and our mini bus service which gives them access to learn in the outside world.

In order to continue to move forward, it is absolutely vital that we attract the right calibre of professional to work alongside our dedicated team of staff; a colleague who shares the clear vision that the child is at the very heart of everything we do; a colleague who is able to enjoy positive, professional relationships with young people; and, perhaps most importantly, a colleague who can demonstrate high levels of resilience and emotional intelligence when dealing with, at times,  complex and sensitive situations.

We are part of the Academies Enterprise Trust network of schools, which provides a high degree of support and expertise to the whole school community and we enjoy partnerships with other AET schools around the country.

If you feel you have the skills, expertise, energy, enthusiasm and passion to join the staff team here, please ensure you submit an application and visit us.

In the meantime, I very much look forward to hearing from you. I appreciate the amount of time that goes into an application, so thank you in advance for considering joining us.

With very best regards,

Mrs Helen Redmond (Executive Head)
