If you can answer yes to these questions, you may be our ideal candidate to join our Estates team. The main responsibilities of this role are to ensure that all areas of the College are presented to a high standard and to provide a responsive service to building users.  You will assist in the monitoring of our computerised Building Management System and will be responsible for either correcting faults or identifying the need for a contractor. Other duties will include opening and closing the premises, undertaking routine inspections of the site and equipment and taking appropriate action including minor maintenance and repair works, and respond to requests for assistance for setting up rooms, moving furniture, goods etc.

You will have relevant qualifications and/or previous experience in the operation of Building Services along with a good working knowledge of an automated Building Management System along with confidence in using ICT. You will be someone who would take a pride in maintaining high standards both in the appearance and efficiency of the site.  You will be someone who demonstrates initiative and who has the confidence to provide and implement solutions to ensure that an excellent service is provided at all times to the building users.

Flexibility will be required over working hours, and shift patterns include cover for evening and weekends. You must be willing to be called out from time to time to respond to any emergencies at the premises.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College is a mixed, non-denominational further education college in Staffordshire, serving students from the age of 16 and above. The further education college, situated in Newcastle under Lyme has approximately 3,800 full time learners on site every year, along with 2,600 part time or adult learners.

Newcastle-Under-Lyme College opened in 1986 and in 2010,  moved to a £60 million campus. In 2015, a £5.5 million performing arts centre opened, while an outdoor learning centre built the following year. The college works closely with LEGO Education to help support learners and teachers and has invested £60,000 in a LEGO Education Innovation Studio. Other facilities include The Gordon Banks Sports Centre, which features a 24 station gym, a media theatre, fashion studio and a hair and beauty training salon. In 2013 it was identified as good by Ofsted.
