 BURSAR & BUSINESS MANAGER 

Beechwood Sacred Heart is a forward thinking, inclusive and caring Catholic co-educational independent day and boarding school for pupils aged between 3 and 18 years. The school is situated in a stunning setting on the outskirts of Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent and was founded in 1915 by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart. Beechwood is justifiably proud of its Catholic ethos and it is an international school and welcomes all faiths. The school retains traditional values with a clear vision for the future under the direction of a vibrant Head and an enabling Governing Body. 

The Governors and the Head are now seeking to appoint an individual with a strong financial, commercial and operational background to join the Senior Leadership Team as the next Bursar & Business Manager. This is a key role in this highly regarded independent school with responsibility for the financial, operational, IT and the business administration of the school. 

The successful applicant will have a proven ability to manage a diverse range of school support services covering finance, IT, including building and facilities management, health and safety, human resources, legal compliance obligations and be the clerk to the governors. The successful applicant will have strong leadership, management, communication and change management skills and will need to be professional, energetic, enthusiastic, hands on and self-motivated. Previous experience as a school bursar would be of benefit but not essential, senior management experience in industry is welcomed. 

The post is available from July 2018, but the actual start date is flexible for the successful candidate. 

The salary will be dependent on the experience of the successful candidate but will be attractive. Agile working may be considered.
