The Headmaster and Governors are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, dynamic and business minded individual to become the new Bursar for Cumnor House School, Sussex. The post holder will also fulfil the role of Clerk to the Governors. The School enjoys robust pupil numbers and a healthy financial position. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success and development of this thriving independent school.
Reporting to the Headmaster, the Bursar is a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team and will play a vital role in the ongoing strategic development of the School. The Bursar will provide leadership to a diverse team of support staff and ensure the delivery and efficiency of all support services at Cumnor. Areas of responsibility include finance, estates, IT, facilities, procurement, risk management and commercial activities.
The successful candidate will be an individual of proven senior leadership ability; a strategic thinker and will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Exceptional financial acumen and robust commercial judgement will be essential, as will an ability to establish highly effective, collaborative working relationships with the Headmaster, Governors and colleagues at all levels. Prior school bursar experience is not a pre-requisite and applications are welcomed from candidates with commercial, charitable, private sector and public sector backgrounds.
