Notre Dame is an outstanding independent Catholic Day School with 650 students aged 2-18 and is set in 26 acres of beautiful, rural Surrey parkland. The Governors and Headteachers are seeking to appoint a Bursar with executive acumen and flair to work with them as the School moves into the next phase of its exciting onward journey.

This an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, energetic and resourceful individual to join the Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in the ongoing strategic development of the School.


The role

The Bursar will manage the financial and business affairs of the school, and will provide leadership to a diverse team of support staff and ensure the successful management of the day- to -day non-educational operations of the School.


The person

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of effective senior leadership, and will evidence outstanding relationship-building and communication skill. They will demonstrate exceptional financial and commercial acumen, strong entrepreneurial skills and the ability to lead, control and manage a wide range of projects.

Our new Bursar will combine the gravitas demanded of this important position with warmth, a sense of humour and an approachability by all.

Education/Experience

• Educated to Degree standard or equivalent

• Qualifications and / or considerable experience in financial systems and processes

• Experience in a strategic leadership role

• Experience in line management

• Understanding of compliance and school regulation

• Experience of project management

• Excellent organisational and IT skills.
