The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Mathematics and Business Teacher to join our dedicated team.  As the successful applicant,  you will  have a genuine passion for both mathematics and business, and an innovative approach to teaching and learning in the classroom. You will teach maths to our Secondary students, including those in Senior Secondary, and you will teach business to students of all secondary years.

The Role

You will possess strong expertise in planning and delivering a focussed secondary / senior secondary curriculum, underpinned by a caring and nurturing approach. You will develop educational strategies to support students in a modern, technological and culturally diverse society.  Your confidence and exemplary practice as a Maths and Business Teacher will translate into positive student outcomes, in the areas of academic achievement and student care.

This is a Contract position commencing on 12 August 2019, until the end of term 2, 2020. This is a maternity leave vacancy, however there is a possibility of continuing in the mathematics aspect of the position.

You will have Queensland College of Teachers registration, and a demonstrated record of embracing innovative teaching practices in a caring and inclusive manner. You will have well-developed organisational skills, tact, confidentiality and the ability to collaborate as part of a team. The College operates a range of technologies and therefore highly developed ICT skills will be an advantage.

About The Springfield Anglican College - Primary Campus

The Springfield Anglican College is an independent, Anglican church school, serving students from kindergarten to Year 12. The co-educational college, situated in Springfield, Queensland, has approximately 880 enrolled students. 

Established in 1998, the college has since grown from its original enrolment of 12 students to expand to a secondary campus eight years ago. Its Tiny Tartan Kindergarten program has been rated as exceeding national standards in all categories, catering for up to 88 students, five days per fortnight.

Situated on 18 hectares, the college is spread across two campuses. The primary campus is located on Springfield College Drive, with the secondary campus located on Springfield Greenbank Arterial in Springfield. On the primary campus, there is a dynamic range of learning facilities, including a makerspace/library, a courtyard, playground and large sporting field. The secondary campus features a large creative arts precinct, outdoor sports courts, a mountain bike track and design and tech labs. 

Curriculum 

The Springfield Anglican College has a learning analytics program, which caters to each individual’s academic needs. The middle school program aims to offer development of the whole student, creating an education that builds the foundations of a person, not just in the classroom. This middle schooling component is largely focused around relationships. The senior schooling program assists students on their career pathways, with options between university and trade-based careers that focus on extension and enrichment opportunities.
