College Business Manager 

Salary:  Pro-rata salary of £40k-£44k

Hours of Work: 36 per week, 41 weeks of the year

The role of College Business Manager is an addition to the leadership and management structure of St. Dominic’s Sixth Form College. The successful candidate will have oversight and day to day HR and all related recruitment matters, assist with the monthly payroll and liaise as and when required with the College payroll provider.  They will be responsible for the management of the administration function of the College and manage the Principal’s diary.

The successful candidate will lead and develop our HR provision, taking responsibility for policy, recruitment and general personnel matters at St. Dominic’s, including maintaining the Single Central Record and all aspects of employment checks. The successful candidate will need to have a confident knowledge of HR matters to ensure that the systems and processes are effective and efficient.  It is envisaged that the HR part of the role will account for around half of the appointees’ working week.  

Additionally, the administration function of the College is well established with experienced staff in a variety of roles. The successful candidate will line manage this area and lead on the Performance Management Review for those colleagues. The management of the Principals’ diary and appointments is on an on-going basis and forms a small part of the overall role. 

The successful candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills, be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and have an outstanding attendance and punctuality record.  Full training will be provided and the College is fully supportive of colleagues involving themselves in their own personal development.   Flexibility and reliability are essential and the ability to work accurately and under-pressure important.

St. Dominic's is the longest established centre for Catholic post-16 education in the Diocese of Westminster. The College provides a wide choice of GCE A, Applied A and AS courses. In addition, BTEC Level 3/ Extended Diploma (Edexcel)

All students are fully supported by Personal Tutors in preparation for employment or higher education. The College provides a Religious Education programme for all students. The Course is accredited by the National Open College Network and students are awarded a Level 1 in Year 12 and a Level 2 Year 13. The examination success rate is outstanding and the vast majority of students progress to higher education.  A wide range of extra-curricular activities is available.
