Tes is pleased to be assisting a reputable independent school in Kew, Melbourne, Victoria in their search for a dynamic finance and business professional to join its leading executive team, preferably as soon as possible.


The successful candidate will demonstrate sophisticated financial, business and operational acumen, be a relational, collaborative leader with extensive industry networks and a strategic, systems-thinker who adopts a proactive hands-on approach.


The Business Manager is an integral member of the Executive Leadership Team. The position has an important and exciting role to play in shaping the strategic planning process to ensure a secure and sustainable future for the school.


Reporting directly to the Principal, the Business Manager will apply astute financial and commercial insights and entrepreneurial skills to responsibly shape and manage sound operational policies, processes and procedures.


The Business Manager is also responsible for providing informed financial leadership and good governance advice across a range of areas to the Principal and Board.


The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader who shows kindness, respect and courage, working in collaboration with all members of the community.


The Business Manager will be a proactive, lateral thinker and a solutions-focused leader. The successful candidate will pay attention to detail, be highly skilled at joining the dots and lead by example when multitasking and managing changing priorities.


A competitive remuneration package and flexible conditions of employment will be negotiated with the preferred candidate. Emerging and aspirant candidates are encouraged to apply.


Applicants must also have appropriate tertiary qualifications in a related field with eligibility for membership to a professional accounting, finance or governance body.
