St Joseph Catholic MAT is a growing trust that is dedicated to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment for our students that promotes a love of learning and encourages them to reach their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for you to help support in the transformation of the educational landscape for children aged 2 – 16 across the Trust. You will be at the forefront of making a difference to children’s lives through supporting senior leaders within our academies. 

We are currently seeking to appoint a skilled Business Operations Manager to strengthen our operations and finance function across the Trust. The role will be responsible for organising and supervising financial administrative and reporting systems across our academies in the Trust and contributing to the strategic planning, development, and monitoring of school operations and finances with the School Business Managers and Headteachers. 

The successful candidate will have excellent financial management skills and a strong understanding of financial reporting processes. As part of their role, the successful candidate will be expected to advise senior management teams on financial strategies and provide guidance on budgetary allocation to ensure that resources are being used effectively and efficiently. In addition to their financial management skills, the successful candidate will also be expected to oversee the academies operational management, ensuring that the estate and facilities are well-maintained and compliant with health and safety regulations and HR practices are robust. Overall, this role requires an individual who can effectively manage financial resources while overseeing wider operational management to support the successful delivery of educational outcomes. 

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to develop good relationships with colleagues, academy leaders, and other stakeholders. They will be highly organised and have the ability to work well under pressure, delivering accurate and timely information to support decision making. 

Requirements: 

• Proven track record in a similar position, preferably in the education sector. 

• Strong knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements. 

• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

• Excellent communication and organisational skills. 

• Commitment to the ethos and values of St Joseph Catholic MAT.

This role is based at the CMAT offices on Mann Island, Regus in Liverpool, however you will be expected to travel to the academies across the Trust regularly.
