Hurst Lodge School is seeking a part-time Business Studies Teacher with Economics experience up to Key Stage 5 (KS5). The successful candidate will join our vibrant and supportive community, contributing to the academic success and holistic development of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in Business Studies and Economics to students up to Key Stage 5.
  • Develop and implement differentiated teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences and contribute to the school's extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with school policies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to promote a culture of collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Stay updated on current trends and developments in Business Studies and Economics education to enhance teaching practice.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Business Studies, Economics, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification would be preferred
  • Proven experience teaching Business Studies and Economics at Key Stage 5, with a strong track record of student achievement.
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the wider life of the school community.
