Priory Education and Children’s Services is a leading company in the UK offering independent behavioural care for commissioners across the UK. With over 100 high quality schools, colleges and homes we focus on making a real and lasting difference for everyone we support.

Heath House Tutorial Services is based in the grounds of Bristol Priory Hospital, and the tutorial services support young people in their education who reside in the PICU unit. The number of students will vary depending on referrals into the unit. The provision is open term time only, and follows Bristol school holidays.

The role will be to support the Tutors and teaching staff in day to day education of the learners in the Unit. As the educational hub is based within a CAMHS unit in Bristol Priory Hospital, it is therefore a secure environment.  The post holder will support learners to achieve long term and short term learning goals within a variety of subjects.

The hospital is located outside of the city centre, and while bus routes are available, access to a private vehicle would be beneficial. A non driver will not be discouraged from applying.

The ideal applicant would require experience in an education establishment. This is a term time role, at 39 weeks per year. £16,000 per annum reflects a full time wage at 52 weeks per year and as such, the salary will reflect the number of weeks worked, approximate take home pay is £12,000 per annum.

This service is provided to both males and females aged between 12 and 18 years. Our aim is to provide a service where the focus is on helping young people to improve their coping skills in the short term. Our primary goals are to:

· Offer intensive multidisciplinary assessment of mental health needs

· Give recommendations on future care pathways

· Move the young person on to a less restrictive setting as soon as possible

Successful outcomes in a CAMHS psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) setting require a multidisciplinary team that has the expertise to work with highly complex and challenging behaviours.
