Job overview

Set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside, just outside Oxford, Cothill House provides an inspirational all-round boarding education and unrivalled opportunities for boys aged 8-13.  Established in 1870, Cothill is recognised globally as one of the country’s leading boys’ boarding prep schools with an exceptional record of preparing boys for the top public schools.  In 2019 the school won Independent Boarding School of the Year and will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2020.

The school has a strong reputation for sport but has no dedicated indoor sports centre and an exciting project is underway to build its first indoor sports centre by the end of 2022.   Cothill House now seeks an experienced major gifts fundraiser to take on the role of Campaign Manager and to work with the Headmaster to secure the funds required.  The campaign also provides opportunities for bursary support and legacy giving.

This is a new role, and the first time that the school has had a fundraising function.  Therefore, it is anticipated that the work of the Campaign Manager during this campaign will also be an opportunity to lay the foundations for philanthropic activity at the school in future.   The campaign is in its quiet phase, and further information can be found in materials for candidates.  The role is offered as a fixed-term three-year contract, and part-time working would be considered.

How to apply

• The full job description and application details can be found at the school’s website “current vacancies”

• The application deadline is Friday 17 January at 5pm.   Interviews will be held on Thursday, 30 January 2020.  If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact the Headmaster’s PA Sophie Willis at Sophie@cothill.net
