We are currently seeking to fill a fixed term 12 month contract for the position of Campus Minister that has become available at our College. This position has a level 5 / 6 school officer classification depending on qualifications. The Campus Minister works closely with the Assistant Principal – Religious Education to advance the Religious Life of the College. The role of the Campus Minister is to support and empower young people to utilise their gifts and talents and to live their faith in a variety of settings including school, parish, wider Church and local community.

Duties include: providing pastoral and spiritual support to students; contributing to the design of faith development opportunities for students; organising and facilitating reflection and prayer experiences; contributing to the organisation of major school liturgies and celebrations and engaging the school community in social justice and social action.

Applicants applying for this position must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Willingness and commitment to support the mission and ethos of Catholic education
- Currently hold or be eligible to hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card or hold current registration as Teacher with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT)
- Be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- Hold or be willing to successfully complete a Graduate Certificate in Religious Education (Campus Ministry) or equivalent as recognised by BCE (e.g. 4 units at university level in Religious Education or Theology or Ministry or similar related field.
- Formal or informal experience in working with young people in a Christian context (e.g. formal experience may involve paid work with a registered youth organisation whereas informal experience may involve volunteer work with a local Parish youth group)


To be successful in this role you will:

  • have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education;
  • hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement; and
  • be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Weeks Worked:  Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term):  2022 School Year

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 38 hours per week

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 5/6

Employment Conditions:  Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
