About the Role

We have exciting opportunities for a committed Canteen & Shop Assistant to join our vibrant and dynamic community.

This position is temporary in nature as it is dependent on a specific programme which is not of an ongoing nature.


Essential Criteria

    • Have an attitude of respect for and understanding of the school community ensuring its continued support and growth.
    • Participate in all aspects of food preparation and serving, ensuring food is prepared in accordance with correct hygiene standards as laid down by the Health Protection Service, ACT Department of Health.
    • Work in conjunction with the Canteen Manager to ensure all equipment, materials and floors are kept clean and maintained.
    • Secure the canteen at the end of the daily operations or at any time it is left unattended.
    • Make welcome and support volunteers in WHS requirements and other areas related to Canteen food prepartation and storage, hygiene and nutrition in order to ensure the efficient operation of the Canteen.
    • Follow agreed practices and assist the Canteen Manager to maintain accurate records and payments for children and staff requesting lunches without payment.
    • Work in conjunction with the Canteen Manager to conduct stock takes and arrange for thorough canteen clean at the end of each term.
