Based in Bradford, West Yorkshire we are recruiting a Care and Wellbeing Team Administrator.  You’ll find this job rewarding as you will help make a difference to the lives of young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

In this role you’ll be responsible for looking at the daily child protection incident log (CPOMS), making informed decisions on which incidents require a response and assigning the incident to the appropriate person from the Designated Safeguarding team.

  • monitor and record all incidents to ensure appropriate action has been taken before updating the database;
  • share access to the CPOMS system with new staff and monitor the quality of reporting and support staff to improve it;
  • support, coordinate and assist with induction / training / awareness for all Academy staff; 
  • organise the annual safeguarding training, refresher and medical intervention training for all staff including medical interventions, Dysphagia, physiotherapy equipment, deep pressure or any other relevant training) and maintain accurate records;
  • produce weekly reports for the safeguarding meeting;
  • produce half termly questionnaires on safeguarding and report on them;
  • assist in ensuring the Academy is compliant with Co-op Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy, Handbook;
  • maintain detailed, accurate, secure written records of concerns and referrals and ensure all Child Protection files are - up to date, transferred to a new college / School (appropriately) and storage is GDPR compliant;
  • support in referring issues to the other bodies (e.g. Channel Social workers);
  • ensure all care plans, physiotherapy and speech and language plans are to date, maintained and accessible to all staff and assist Care Team as required; 
  • ensure all care needs are recorded accurately.

You’ll have:

  • Qualifications or experience equivalent to NVQ Level 5 or equivalent plus GCSE English and Maths (A – C);
  • Appropriate Qualification in the field of expertise e.g. Safeguarding L2/L3, MultiAgency Working, Safeguarding procedures including CSE, FGM, Prevent and E-Safety;
  • Successful experience of working with young people;
  • Successful experience of communicating with parents and other stakeholders;
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding, Child Protection, Prevent Duty and Channel.

We are Co-op Academy Southfield. Co-op Academy Southfield is a special secondary academy in Bradford, graded as 'good with outstanding features' by Ofsted.

Co-op Academy Southfield provides education for students aged 11 to 19 years with clearly identified special educational needs who have an Education Health and Care Plan.

With 310 students and over 200 staff the school is one of the larger special schools in the country. We have high aspirations for our students which means that we have to have high expectations of all of our staff.  A willingness  to communicate, collaborate and co-operate is essential if we are to get this right for our students and their families.

We are co-located in a purpose-built building with Co-op Academy Grange, a mainstream secondary school. Our sixth form provision is housed across Haycliffe Lane on a smaller site. It offers specialist education and training to provide pathways to our students for life after school.
