Care Support Assistant (Bank) Learners with Learning Disabilities or Difficulties (LLDD) Day Break Day Care Provision

Hours: Variable according to need but mainly to cover holidays and sickness, 50 weeks per year

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Bank Care Support Assistant (CSA) to support the Manager and our other CSA’s in our Day Break - Day Care facility at Grantham College. This role is a Bank position and will predominately be used to cover sickness and holidays of the other members of staff.

The roles main purpose would be to provide support to clients with physical and/or learning needs within small groups or individually. The roles main duties are to carry out the duties of a Learning Support Assistant, supporting learners/clients on individual/small group programmes agreed with the Curriculum Manager or Day Break Manager. To support learners/clients with physical/learning difficulties. To assist learners/clients with additional needs to have full access to the LLDD facilities such as sensory room, adapted kitchen. To assist the Manager with routine administrative tasks. To provide clients / service users with personal care. To assist with preparation of support documentation and materials. To attend Team meetings. To operate flexibly recognising the requirements of the client and the requirements of the provision including holiday periods and sickness.

You will need to have an awareness of disabilities and barriers to learning. Be flexible with regard to learners supported. Flexible with regards to course support. Have excellent interpersonal / communicational skills. Be a team player. You must have Level 2 Literacy / numeracy, level 2 IT, Learning Support Qualifications and a minimum NVQ Care level 2 or equivalent (or working towards). You will need experience of working with young people in educational, youth work or similar or supporting young people in secondary schools or Further Education.
