Duties and Responsibilities:


· Be familiar of the application process for entrance at least to UK, USA etc., which includes the time-line for application

· Be aware of the scholarship and bursary opportunities for Russians for undergraduate studies in UK, USA, Europe, Russia etc. 

· Be familiar with standardized testing such SAT, ACT, IELTS, TOEFL etc. 

· Good competency in preparing students for writing of personal statements, drafting of CVs, interviews with university admission interviewers 

· Extensive contacts with admission department from various local and overseas universities, which must include some universities from the world top 50 universities https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2019  and have experience organizing university fair for students on-campus


Application Portals/Systems


1. UK

• Set up UCAS for school

• Creation of teacher accounts and teaching teachers to navigate the UCAS for submission of recommendations

• Brief students on the use the UCAS portal

• Knowledge of the different processes for Medicine/Dentistry/Law

• Knowledge of the different processes for Oxford and Cambridge

• Knowledge Cambridge’s COPA/SAQ

• Knowledge of additional testing requirements and registrations (eg, LNAT, BMAT, UKCAT, STEP)


2. US

• Knowledge of Commonapp, Coalition and UC System portals

• Brief and assist students in navigating the complex process of using all these systems when applying for college

• Understanding of the various complex testing requirements

• Understanding of CSS Profile and Finaid rubric


3. Other Countries

• willingness and ability to learn and navigate other systems to which students might be applying to


Counseling Knowledge


1. Student Application Management Platforms

• knowledge of one of the following: CIALFO, UNIFROG, MAIA LEARNING, is mandatory

• Integrate transcripts, recommendations requests/sending, monitoring of student apps to US via one of the above

• Brief tutors on submissions of recommendations via one of the platforms and monitor deadlines

• Aggregating of university admissions data via platform, including UK, US and all other countries; compiling annual data for Principal and founder


2. Competitive Admissions Advising

• Some understanding of admissions rubric for top universities

• Understanding the testing needs for various universities


3. Financial Aid

• Some knowledge of pockets of financial aid and scholarship opportunities across the world

• Focus would be on the Finaid system in US


4. Counselling Experience

• Experience in working with kids applying to the top schools across the world

• Experience working on admissions essays especially for the US

• experience working with kids in close proximity on goals, ambitions and plans


5. Academic & Career Counselling

• Some knowledge on academic advising is preferred

• Ability to also help kids understand the complex opportunities that lie beyond college is also preferred


Relevant Qualifications and desired personal qualities:

· At least 5 years of counselling experience in an international high school environment

· Preferably with Master of Counselling

· Experience of working with gifted and talented students (preferred) 

· Well-organized and, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team

· Well-motivated and responsible 

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with students, faculty members from school, external stakeholders


Work conditions:

· Initial appointment for two years and thereafter annually renewable

· Competitive salary adjusted to currency exchange rate

· 56 days of paid holidays + 17 public holidays a year

· Free accommodation on campus (you only pay for utilities)

· Visa and work permission support  

· Return flights once a year (economy class)

· Agreed one-time relocation allowance 

· Extended medical insurance (including dentistry)

Letovo is a School in which each child will grow, achieve high academic, creative and sports results, communicate, socialize and pursue a growth mindset in life in general, while maintaining strong Russian educational and cultural traditions. At Letovo we implement state of the art practices while retaining the best of established Russian tradition. For the second year Letovo has been ranked first in the world ranking of IB schools with an average 42.1

Letovo is a non-profit private school for talented children who are eager to learn and challenge themselves academically and personally. The campus for senior school students is located southwest of Moscow in the newly developed Novaya Moskva district (open countryside), and Letovo Junior is located in the city center.

Letovo is a highly selective School serving up to 1000 bright students from all over Russia in grades seven through eleven (the last five grades in the Russian education system) in a senior campus and up to 250 pre-school and primary aged children in Junior school.

The School Site

The School is located in a new suburban district of Moscow. Letovo campus perfectly fits into the natural landscape characteristic of central Russia. Near the school there is a pond, a river and a beautiful pine forest which is used for both academic, sports and leisure activities.

The infrastructure of Letovo school consists of 19 thousand square meters of premises, 10 houses for students, 3 houses for teachers, 40 classrooms, 1,000 seats in the theater, 5 library rooms, 9 scientific laboratories, 4 sports halls and 1 stadium. All premises are designed specifically for children to be accessible and proportionate to their needs providing a quiet and safe place for every child.

Letovo school is a winner of the 2016 Moscow Architecture Committee Award in the nomination for The Best Architectural and Urban Planning Solution for Education and Medicine.
