An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and passionate Careers Advisor to further enhance and develop our role as a regional careers hub lead school.

Lyng Hall has an outstanding careers programme that has been both locally and nationally recognised for its inspirational and pioneering work.

The successful candidate will provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance to students, and support staff to deliver careers opportunities across the curriculum. As well as the appropriate qualifications and experience, or willingness to train if currently unqualified, you will have excellent communication skills, the ability to work within a team, and, the initiative to work alone.

Lyng Hall is part of the Finham Park Multi Academy Trust, which currently comprises three secondary schools and two primary schools.  There are opportunities for staff to collaborate across the MAT.

We have developed a national and international reputation for our pioneering work to raise standards and ensure that all students, especially the most vulnerable, are able to achieve their full potential.  Lyng Hall was the first school to achieve the Achievement for All Quality Mark and Lead School status.

Students flourish in the environment that we have created.  We work very closely with parents and seek to resolve all barriers to achievement, whatever and wherever they are.  We have a dynamic, positive and talented staff, providing an excellent learning environment for our children.

The school serves a very socio-economically challenging neighbourhood with 50% of the children from ethnic minority groups, particularly Eastern Europe.  This diversity is a very positive feature of our school.

If you share our ambition to provide an outstanding education for our pupils, we would welcome an application from you.

If you would like an informal conversation about this post, please contact Lynn Kingston, Deputy Headteacher, on 024 7672 4960 (ext 106) or e-mail lkingston@lynghallschool.co.uk.

Completed application forms should be returned to apply@finhampark.co.uk or by post to HR Department, Finham Park Multi Academy Trust, Torrington Avenue, Coventry, CV4 9WT.

Values and vision

Lyng Hall School wants all students to achieve their full potential and achieve high standards in a welcoming and stimulating learning environment. The secondary school works to deliver pupils a broad and balanced curriculum where learning is made enjoyable and where individual talents and skills can develop. It is important for the school that pupils are fully prepared for life after secondary school, and a wide range of careers advice is available throughout each school year, with Year 7 pupils being given an insight into university life, while Year 13 students gain interview practice to prepare them for their future job hunt. Lyng Hall School wants all students to feel valued and treated as individuals, and works to ensure that pupils respect each other, regardless of their differences and beliefs. The school holds status as a specialist Sports College and has achieved the Achievement for All Quality Mark and is a Careers Academy and Gold Healthy Schools status.

Ofsted

“Lyng Hall is a good school, with a good sixth form. It has improved considerably since the last inspection. Students in the main school attain in line with national averages from very low starting points. Their progress is at least good and sometimes outstanding.”
