We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser to join the school staff. Having outsourced careers advice for a number of years we are now keen to employ someone who will become an established member of the school community and who knows the students and staff well.

We want to employ a Careers Adviser who will deliver one to one and group sessions to students, offer advice and guidance and support them to make appropriate yet ambitious career decisions. We want our students to see the Careers Adviser as someone they can go to for advice and support whenever they need it and who will assist them with college, sixth form and apprenticeship applications.

Our Careers Adviser will work under the guidance of an Assistant Headteacher and have access to a dedicated careers space. We are keen for the successful post-holder to establish our new Careers Area as part of the school’s central library hub and this post comes with the opportunity to grow into being the school’s Careers Leader in the future.

The only essential requirement is to be qualified to Level 6 in Careers Guidance. Aside from that we want someone who can connect with young people and who wants to be part of the team at school who provide support and guidance to enable our students to go on and lead a successful and fulfilling life.

Slough and Eton is a great school on the outskirts of Slough, which serves the Chalvey community. We are relentlessly focused on ensuring great teaching, learning and experiences are at the core of what we do. It is an exciting time for us and our students are a pleasure to work with.

If you are interested in finding out more then please read the welcome letter from our Headteacher and feel free to visit the school in advance of applying.

We look forward to hearing from you.

If you would like to contribute to our exciting future please visit our website at www.slougheton.com in the vacancy section for further details and application pack or contact our HR Advisor, Beverly Glanville for an application form using vacancies@slougheton.com

Closing date: 9am, Friday 15th July 2022

Interviews: w/c 18th July 2022

We reserve the right to interview promising candidates prior to this date if applications are received early.

We are, of course, committed to safeguarding the welfare of our students and staff and will conduct all necessary DBS checks as part of our recruitment process.

About Slough and Eton CE Business and Enterprise College

Slough and Eton is a great school and I am immensely proud to have joined it as Headteacher in September 2017.  Pupils and students at Slough and Eton are expected to work extremely hard and are encouraged to achieve their very best in all that they do.  As a result of their tremendous work ethic they achieve extremely well and we are very proud of them.  We believe in educating the whole child and as such place great importance on the many cultural experiences we provide for pupils and students as well as the academic ones.

As a Church of England school we welcome pupils from all faiths, foster a culture of tolerance and understanding throughout the school and are always delighted to show visitors the fantastic things that happen here.  We have a thriving and growing Sixth Form and enjoy using excellent facilities.  If you are interested in finding out more about our school then please do come and visit us.  I would be delighted to show you around, along with some pupils and give you the opportunity to talk informally with some staff about what it is like to work at the school.

Mr Peter Collins

Headteacher
