We are seeking to appoint a successful Careers Assistant / Work Related Learning Coordinator to join our highly effective admin team. They will be required to assist in the careers department and report into the Careers advisor. 

Main Duties and Responsibilities  

  • To support the careers advisor with all aspects of the careers and destination work of the college
  • Ensure the effective management of the College work related learning programme

  • To ensure that all students have the opportunity to carry out high quality work related learning experiences
  • Liaise with potential employers to ensure a comprehensive database with regards to placements for all curriculum areas.  Source and advise the partnership of new placements by regular contact with employers.  
  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are met with regards to students and their work place, including work placement risk assessments.   
  • Provide and collate all the necessary documentation to employers, parents and students with regards to data protection, health and safety, job descriptions, and where appropriate student medical details/confidential details.  
  • To ensure that vulnerable students are placed in the most suitable environment and the placements would be regularly monitored, in liaison with the Learning Support Department, and subject staff. 
  • Monitor students at their placements via email and telephone, visiting students at their placements when required. 
  • Record and report to Subject Area Leaders, any placement incidents. 
  • Working with curriculum areas with specific industry placements, to include: Travel & Tourism, Sport and Health and Social Care. 
  • To provide advice and guidance to students, parents and colleagues on work related learning. 
  • Be the first point of contact for work experience students. 
  • Performing other duties as reasonably required by the Principal
