We are looking to appoint a forward-thinking and passionate Careers Lead to inspire all students to aspire to the best possible destinations. A proven track record of success is desirable for joining our strong and supportive team, which was rated “Outstanding” in March 2023. The quality of our careers provision is a key theme in our recent Ofsted report and is a significant contributor to our outstanding status.

The Careers programme at MV16 is overseen by our Assistant Principal. We have developed this new role because we recognize that effective progression planning and support are pivotal in delivering our first-class, ambitious careers provision as we grow.

The role itself includes conducting one to one careers meetings with students, liaising with colleges and local authorities to support students in choosing the most appropriate destinations, organising events such as transition information events and careers week activities, and raising the profile of careers and destinations across the whole setting. You will also be responsible for organising relevant work experience placements to help develop our young people’s employability skills.

The Nova Education Trust is a cross-phase Multi-Academy Trust based in Nottinghamshire. The schools in our portfolio includes both secondary and primaries, working in a range of contexts. Our track record demonstrates our ability to deliver our core goal, achievement for every child.

Please see the attached Candidate Information Pack for more details including the job description and person specification.

We positively welcome applications from all sections of the community.  Melton Vale Sixth Form College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service search in line with DfE requirements.
