The College is looking for an inspirational and visionary individual to lead and manage our Careers department for approximately one academic year for maternity cover. 

You should have a track record of outstanding success, be well-qualified, and be pro-active in a commitment to providing the highest quality Careers services to our students. 

Careers at Notre Dame Catholic Sixth Form College

The key priority for the department is to provide outstanding information, advice, and guidance to all students to allow students to flourish and reach their potential. Careers is embedded into all aspects of the student's study programme including curriculum, tutorials, PTE, ND+ and enrichment. The department offers a creative approach to careers guidance with traditional daily face to face, telephone and e-guidance appointments. The department is pro-active in engaging with external organisations including networking with employers, HE institutions and apprenticeship providers to ensure students are provided with the latest information and choices for progression routes. 

The department produces a high-quality annual Careers programme which also highlights how the college is meeting all 8 Gatsby benchmarks through innovative events and activities.

The Careers team consisting of four members of staff: Head of Careers, two Careers Advisors and one Employer Engagement Lead, pride themselves of being friendly, supportive, and accessible to students, staff and parents/guardians. 

Throughout the year four large scale events take place delivered by the Careers team including Higher Education Day, Careers Fair, STEM fair and L6 Parent Options evening. Compulsory career's guidance is prioritised for our Level 2 students, U6 jobseekers, early leavers and students on an EHCP. Work experience has expanded each year as the department provide unique opportunities for students to engage with employers through work shadowing, industry placements, employer insight days and virtual work experience opportunities. The Destination data provides outstanding evidence of the impact the Careers team have on student progression. 

The department is especially proud to be recognised in the College’s recent outstanding Ofsted report: ‘specialist careers staff guide students exceptionally well.’
