We are now looking for a Careers-related Programme Coordinator to join this successful team.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates positive leadership and highly effective communication skills
  • Maintains utmost confidentiality at all times, due to the nature of personnel disclosure within the department/grade level
  • Models and encourages a culture of kindness in support of the GEMS/GWA core values
  • Responsible for review, monitoring and quality assurance of CP programme within each department
  • Assists with the accomplishment of strategic school improvement plans, including but not limited to leading scheduled and walk-in tours for CP families, meeting with CP families to address concerns, oversee the development of departmental curriculum booklets, regularly update the Academy website with relevant and up-to-date CP information, lead coffee mornings for current and prospective families, attend marketing events for the Academy that take place outside of regular working hours, support with the retention of students in CP, etc.
  • Coordinate end-of-year check-out procedures
  • Leads all areas related to transitional events into the CP programme and into post-secondary education
  • Prepares all materials for marketing, public relations, and community announcements related to the CP
  • Serves as a consultant/instructional coach for department/grade level colleagues to address student academic, behaviour, social needs
  • Handles all EURs and matters related to university support following the publication of results
  • Management of of the BTEC Business Programme


Curriculum, Progress & Assessment:

  • Ensure the CP programme in in full compliance with the IB Programme Standards and Practices
  • Update CP Handbook annually and monitor staff and student’s compliance with expectations set
  • Monitor all policies (specifically, homework and assessment policies) to ensure they are followed
  • Responsible for review, monitoring and quality assurance of Summative calendar on Managebac and communicating tasks with Directors of Learning as requested by Principal or Assistant Principals
  • Assists in the preparation of necessary documentation of curriculum materials following the guidance of the Assistant Principals and Principal
  • Attends and leads all related Director of Learning meetings
  • Participates in timetable development as requested by the Principal or Assistant Principals
  • Assists CP teachers with orientation to subject or grade level curriculum
  • Oversees the design and implementation of CP student interventions and assists team in the development of learning targets for students
  • Ensure Reporting is accurate and reflects expectations of the CP
  • Meet weekly with Directors of Learning to monitor CP programme
  • Responsible for review, collection, coordinating, typing, and copying, processing educational materials related to annual budget request and ordering
  • Support with student subject selection
  • Oversee examination calendar and ensure all dates are included on GWA Calendar

Teaching & Learning:

  • Models highly effective principles of teaching and instructional differentiation
  • Effectively models, communicates, and supports the implementation of best practices
  • Proactively addresses grade/department concerns and resolves them in a timely, professional manner
  • Monitors appropriate quality and quantity of homework by department
  • Works as a contributing leader with other grade and department chairs 
  • Coordinate all IB training for CP staff to ensure staff are fully qualified to deliver the CP programme. New staff should be IB trained before commencing the new Academic Year
  • Coordinate all CP staff weekly CPD


Personal Development, Welfare & Behaviour:

  • Contributes positively to team building
  • Is aware of, and contributes to, the authorization of behaviour plans to impact student progress
  • Models appropriate dress, demeanour, and positive work ethics as defined by school standards
  • Ensure team members communicate regularly per division policy with families
  • Serves as a consultant for department colleagues to address student academic, behaviour, social needs


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree or combined degree and teaching qualification
  • Teaching and/or Administration experience (minimum 5 years preferred)
  • Demonstration of successful leadership, organisation and management skills in current or previous roles
  • Strong public relations and positive, collaborative demeanour, alongside a robust work ethic and willingness to contribute to the general welfare of the total school programme
