You will work a set shift pattern and you will have specific responsibility for opening the school site each morning. You would also be a keyholder and therefore may be called out in the event of an emergency.

Applicants should be able to work flexibly and be able to use initiative and prioritise tasks effectively. We are particularly keen to hear from all round “handy” individuals who can present a broad range of practical skills. Experience of an education setting would be an advantage, but is not essential. Job share will be considered for the right applicants.

32.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. 24 days’ holiday entitlement, plus bank holidays, increasing to 27 days after 5 years’ service.

Salary details:

Hampshire County Council Grade C - £16, 630 to £17,515

Application procedure:

HCC Support staff application forms can be found on our website under the ‘Our School’ section.  Completed application forms can be sent by post to Gemma Yates, PA to Executive Headteacher or emailed to g.yates@alderwood.hants.sch.uk and should be received no later than 12pm on the closing date.

Alderwood Senior School is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children and young people/vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

The school’s Equal Opportunities Policy is an essential part of the Governing Body’s commitment to a fair and equal approach to the employment of all staff and towards all job applicants. Only those applicants who fulfil the job specification will be short-listed. 2 references will be sought for each candidate, and these references must be received before the interview.

There will be an interview panel comprising of the Head of School and the Business Manager. The Head of School has undertaken the ‘Safer Recruitment in Schools’ training.
