The Woodland Academy Trust consists of three schools, Northumberland Heath, Peareswood and Willow Bank Primary Schools working in partnership. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, responsible people to work across two sites; Peareswood and Willow Bank Primary Schools. The candidate will work as a school caretaker under the direction of the Peareswood Premises Manager.

The positions will be with effect from October 2016 or earlier if able and the appointment will be to the Woodland Academy Trust. Although working across Peareswood and Willow as a Trust contract the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work at any of the Trusts three schools depending upon the needs of the Trust.

Your duties would include the unlocking and locking of the site in addition to ensuring that the premises and grounds are kept safe, warm, cleaned and properly maintained including routine maintenance and odd jobs. Although you will also be responsible for overseeing the cleaning staff, site security and need to be able to deal with emergencies relating to premises and site maintenance you will be under the direction of a very experienced and highly skilled Premises Manager.

The successful candidate will need to have experience of Health & Safety and basic security. They would also need exceptional interpersonal skills and be able to deal tactfully with young children, staff members and members of the public. There is a requirement for furniture moving and porterage. The post will need a candidate who is able to work flexible hours and overtime including Saturday working may be required.

An ability to follow clear instructions is an absolute necessity. Being able to carry out minor DIY tasks such as repairs, furniture assembly and painting is essential, as is a sense of humour!

The position does not have accommodation provided. The successful candidate will be expected to work 7 hours per day.

An average day would be 10:15 to 13:45 and then 14:30 to 18:00 but there may be occasions when you will be required to work a split shift to cover any periods of absence. Split shift hours are as follows: 06:30 to 10:30 (break) then 14:45 to 18:00 (Monday to Thursday) 06:30 to 10:15 (break) then 14:45 to 18:00. Please note that some evening and weekend work may be required especially during building projects.
