37 hours per week (working shifts), 44 weeks (Term time only plus INSET days and 5 weeks holiday cover)

Working Days and Hours: Monday to Friday from 7am – 3pm

At least 1 week in every term there will be an expectation of a shift from 12:30pm – 8:30pm

 BTCT points 5 to 6. Actual starting salary: £19,090 per annum

The core purpose of this position is to ensure the Academy’s site, buildings and furnishings are safe, secure, cleaned and maintained to standards defined by legal requirements, Health and Safety regulations and the Academy management.

This is a practical role, where experience of carrying out simple repairs, maintenance and decorating are required.

Ideally you will have an understanding of health and safety and manual handling, and will have basic IT skills. You will need to have a pleasant, courteous manner, with the ability to work in often reactive situations to meet the needs of the Academy.

Bridgwater College Academy is the only all-through mainstream Academy in Somerset and opened in 2012.  Student numbers are divided equally between Primary and Secondary phases; we also have a nursery provision too. The Academy was the first sponsored Academy within the Bridgwater and Taunton College Trust, which now hosts seven Academies and is itself set to continue to expand in the future.
