Prospect House Primary School currently have an exciting opportunity for a Caretaker to assist in the responsibility for maintenance, security and facilities management of our brand new, purpose built, school site and premises. The successful applicant will be a team player and will have the ability to communicate well with staff and pupils at all levels. 

This is a permanent, full-time role, working 35 hours per week, all-year round. The role is Grade 3, with a starting annual salary of £18,933.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  •  carrying out general maintenance and repairs in the school, in accordance with the expectation of senior staff, and reporting any safety hazards/unsafe practices in and around the building. This includes undertaking repairs and maintenance to fixtures and fittings and carrying out decoration.
  •  be a responsible key holder and ensure security of the premises, grounds and its contents, including monitoring CCTV or surveillance equipment where appropriate.
  • undertaking and maintaining the cleanliness and physical appearance/environment of the designated site – inside and out, including maintenance of specialist facilities and equipment following appropriate training, where applicable
  •  managing designated site staff and ensuring that cleaning is carried out by contractors in accordance with specification
  • acting as a first aider for the school.
  • undertaking emergency and other cleaning duties which may occur during the school day e.g. cleaning up hazardous substances, broken glass etc.

About Us

Prospect House Primary School is currently on a shared site with Grange School in Levenshulme.  We are at a very exciting stage of development, as we plan to move into our brand new purpose built school in March 2022. The new site will be on Bank House Road, Higher Blackley, Manchester, M9 8LT. We will be transitioning our current cohort of pupils to the new site in April 2022, and are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to help support our school community and grow our incredible staff team during the transition and beyond.  This is an incredible opportunity to join a growing school as part of a well established Outstanding Multi Academy Trust.

About Prospect House Primary Specialist Support School

Prospect House is a new free special primary school in Higher Blackley, North Manchester. The school is the first school in the Trust to be open north of the city offering places for children with very significant learning needs and other associated additional needs, aged 3 – 11 years old. The brand new purpose built site offers specialist facilities including a state-of-the-art hydropool including changing room to pool hoisting, ASC friendly classrooms and corridors, Food Technology Room, Library, Immersive Learning Room, Sensory Regulation Room, Parent Room, Pets as Therapy Dogs (Alfie and Ovie) and two KuneKune Pigs (Sebastian and Dolores).
