Job overview

Ebor Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust serving children aged 2 to 16. It is our aspiration to develop geographical hubs of schools that share our values.

Staynor Hall Primary School is a bright, modern primary school that opened in 2016 creating a positive climate for learning. We are now looking for a School Caretaker to join our friendly team where you will work Monday – Friday, 7am – 9am term time only.

As a Caretaker, you will ensure that the school’s buildings and grounds are in proper working order, maintaining a safe working environment for all users of the facility. Carrying out minor repairs and reporting any faults which require specialist help, you will maintain the grounds and ensure the premises are clean and rubbish is collected. The role also involves being responsible for the security of the buildings, carrying out security checks and ensuring all fire safety and health and safety regulations are adhered to.

We are looking for someone who has good DIY skills and a knowledge of the basic maintenance required for school premises. With a good level of practical skills in areas such as buildings and grounds maintenance, manual handling techniques, safe use of power tools and electrical safety, you will also have an understanding of the safeguarding of children.

A flexible person who can work to deadlines, you will be able to communicate well with children, school staff and visitors, and will have the ability to work to deadlines and on your own initiative.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing Trust that offers staff development opportunities across it’s staff, including facilities team members.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Ebor Academy Trust to provide an inclusive environment in which children are encouraged to become responsible for themselves, their learning and their behaviour.

Our central aim is to enable all children and staff to develop as aspirational learners and leaders who strive to reach their goals and achieve their potential.
