Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our catering team for 20 hours per week (Monday – Friday 10:45 to 14:45) for 38 weeks per year (term time only).  We are a large secondary school with busy service times; therefore speed and duty of care are essential. The ability to work well with staff and pupils is an important requirement of the job as well as being able to work on your own and as being part of a team.

The post will involve the following duties

·                Preparation and service of breakfast 

·                Morning break & lunch service

·                General help in kitchen

·                Food preparation

·                Working on the till

·                Clearing and Washing up

Some experience of working in a similar environment would be useful and Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is desirable although training will be given if required.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, DBS check and Occupational Health Clearance.
