Contract type: Permanent. Full time 40 hours a week.37 weeks plus 4 weeks

Polam Hall School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced Catering Manager to manager the in–house provision of good quality, nutritious school meals including breakfasts, lunches and teas and meals for boarding pupils.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day operational management of the school catering service and will need to evidence the following attributes and experience:

  • To be responsible for the planning and provision of high quality and nutritionally balanced meal for pupils, staff and boarders at Polam Hall School
  • To provide leadership, supervision and training for all catering staff working within the catering function
  • To ensure Food Hygiene, Allergen and Health and Safety Compliance - Food Hygiene level 2 and 3 are essential requirements of the post

You will have proven experience of working in a school kitchen and of leading a team. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with staff and stakeholders at all levels.

Polam Hall School is a 4-19 co-educational day and boarding school which converted to Free School Status in September 2015. It is now part of Woodard Academies Trust and forms part of the Trust’s Northern Hub. The Trust is working effectively with Polam Hall School to prepare the school for its first OFSTED, expected in 2017/18.

This is a very exciting time at Polam Hall. The school has grown to its current 720 pupils over the last two years and will continue to expand until it reaches a roll of around 880.

We have 790 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase.
