About Norman Court School and Montessori Nursery

We are a mixed ability, independent school currently offering education for boys and girls from 6 months old to 12 years. We have 35 pupils in the school and 25 in our Nursery. Plans are in place to accommodate children up to the age of 16 over the next five years. Above all else, the school exists for the benefit of the children in our care and we strive to put them first in all dealings.

Set in an elegant Grade 2 listed manor house, Norman Court nestles amidst 45 acres of beautiful countryside on the Hampshire/Wiltshire border. Open space is at a premium and currently shared with only the local fauna and the school’s Montessori Nursery. It provides the perfect setting for children to learn in a safe, inspirational environment.

We expect much from the children in terms of effort and results yet we also strive to educate the whole child in a family atmosphere by offering a wide variety of opportunities. Character education is what underpins much of what we do and ‘how’ children achieve is as important as what they achieve. Diversity is celebrated and the school encourages achievement and talent in whatever guise it takes. To meet this, we keep classes small and employ professional staff who show willing to go the extra mile.

We have built the curriculum around the environment and seek opportunities to use the picturesque setting to inspire the children’s learning. We actively encourage them to be adventurous, independent thinkers; supportive of others with concern for the both the local and international community.

We are currently based in two buildings that occupy the site where we are educating pupils from 6 months old to aged 12. The Main House opened to boarders and older pupils (Year 9) from September 2016.

We are a good-natured, hardworking team. Together, we have started to build a small, friendly community. All future staff must buy into the aims and vision of the school and share our passion for providing a happy, healthy and successful learning environment.
