Ark Burlington Danes Academy is seeking to appoint an experienced Careers Advisor to join this thriving school and continue to develop its well-established Careers Department. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in CEIAG and be warm and receptive to Ark BDA students’ needs. They will be enthusiastic and driven to advance and develop this vital area of provision.
Our ideal candidates will:
•preferably have extensive Careers Education experience and/or QCG qualifications
•knowledge of how a secondary school with a Sixth Form should run
•be able to help implement the necessary routines and patterns to establish good behaviour management within the school
•be committed to Ark’s ethos of high expectations and no excuses
•have the resolve to make a real difference to the lives of pupils.
In this role you will:
•assist Ark BDA students with career learning, planning and development by leading and managing the development of the Careers Department
•develop and manage a rigorous Careers, Education, Information, Advice and Guidance Programme for all Key Stages
•lead on the organisation of work experience
•join the Ark network, with comprehensive career and professional development and a range of exclusive benefits.

Curriculum
We believe that everyone deserves to be accepted, included and empowered to live a life that is purposeful and fulfilling. Our curriculum is a key driver of this vision and our Christian ethos. We place the curriculum at the heart of school life. It drives all other decisions that we make and is the best means we have of demonstrating as a school what we believe in and what we stand for. Our curriculum is a broad, balanced and equitable offer; built around the core disciplines of English, mathematics, science, humanities, languages and religious education. All subject areas prepare pupils for future study within their discipline, with mastery of core and foundation subjects ensuring pupils have choice later on in their education; as they specialise in key areas of study. The curriculum in each subject area has been designed backwards from university study, through A-Level, GCSE, and into the Primary and Early Years phase to ensure students can reach their fullest potential.
