Job overview

Children First Academy Trust is looking to appoint a new CEO.

Are you someone who is passionate about education and the doors it opens for all children and particularly for those in our local community of schools? Are you someone who believes in building the expertise and skills of all our staff through working in partnership and collaborative leadership? We are looking for an inspiring, ambitious leader to build on what we have created and ensure that we develop and grow. So, if you are someone who does put children first and does not tolerate excuses, then we would love to hear from you.

Thrive and Achieve Together

Formed in April 2019, Children First Academy Trust was established through five local primary schools coming together as equal partners, recognising the value of working together to improve the education we can provide for our children. All the schools are located in the London borough of Enfield and are situated within 3 miles of each other. We are very proud of what we have achieved and believe that a key feature of our success has been the importance we have placed on the partnership and collaboration of all the heads from the five schools with a strong and very experienced board of trustees.

Due to our existing CEO stepping down to take a well-earned retirement we are seeking to appoint a new CEO to lead us through the next stage in our development. They will work closely with the Board of Trustees, Headteachers and Central Team to ensure the best opportunities and possible outcomes for our learners and their families.

Through inspirational leadership and rigorous policy development they will work to maintain a culture of constant improvement, effective systems of governance and control, and high levels of professional standards to secure the highest possible achievement for all in every aspect of the schools’ provision.

The CEO is ultimately responsible for the success of the Trust. Therefore, they should be

aware of all aspects of strategy and delivery. They will have a key role in influencing decision making in order to deliver the principles of the Trust, which are:

  • to provide outstanding education for the children within our schools
  • to provide wide-ranging opportunities and experiences for our children which develop skills for life
  • to develop a sustainable, well-led organisation with a culture of ‘Children First’

The successful candidate must embody our core values of Aspiration, Integrity and Resilience and uphold these to actively promote and market the Trust in a positive manner that enhances how it is perceived amongst the local and broader education community.

If you would like to find out more about the CEO role, please visit our website at www.childrenfirsttrust.co.uk, where you will find an information pack containing a detailed job description and person specification, an application form and the Academy Trust Brochure. There will also be details of how you can visit us in person, and we strongly encourage you to do so.

If you think you could be our next CEO and are considering making an application, we look forward to hearing from you so that you can find out whether this is the right role for you.

The closing date for applications is: 5pm on 17th January 2022

The interviews will take place: w/c 24th January 2022

Children First Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, and we will check the suitability of staff to work with children. Applicants must be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and overseas police checks (where applicable).
