Job overview

Inspire Partnership Multi Academy Trust,

Role: CEO

Salary: £125k - £135k negotiable dependent on experience

Start Date: April 2024, or agreed in discussion with the appointed candidate

Inspire Partnership Multi Academy Trust (IPMAT) is a vibrant, aspirational Trust of 9 primary schools working across Wakefield. It also supports other primary schools across Yorkshire. The Trust came into existence in 2016 and is a family of schools, each of which have a special purpose and unique identity, but with a shared mission, vision and sense of responsibility for each other. With the planned retirement of its founding CEO, the Trust is seeking to appoint a new CEO. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide the strategic leadership that will sustain, develop and grow the Trust.

IPMAT is a values-based organisation where the aim is to support schools through collaboration. The Trust ensures its schools are able to provide an excellent education for children, families and communities they serve. Everyone is valued and opportunities and successes are shared.

The new CEO must uphold and actively support the vision and values of the Trust and actively promote and market the Trust in a positive manner that further enhances how it is perceived amongst the local and wider education community.

IPMAT is a MAT focused solely on Primary education and the Trustees believe this to be a real strength. The new CEO should share the Trust’s ambition to expand its family of primary schools and whilst there is a desire to improve the diversity of the Trust, there is a commitment to growth locally. This may include growing into neighbouring local authority areas, whilst still ensuring that schools are able to support each other and benefit from the proximity of central team support.

This is an outstanding opportunity for the new CEO to lead a high performing and committed executive leadership team, including Central Team and Headteachers. You must have be strategically aware, financially astute and possess outstanding interpersonal skills with the determination and drive to embrace the ethos of the Trust’s school improvement work and to grow the Trust.

This is an exciting time for the Trust and the new CEO. If you are an ambitious leader with the ability to translate strategic plans into effective operational practice, then this is an outstanding opportunity to lead the future development of the Trust. The successful candidate must be an inspirational and aspirational leader with a track record of successful school improvement and significant primary school experience. You will value innovation and research led development and be an outstanding leader of people who can drive the Trust forward with your energy, passion for excellence, promotion of best practice and the courage to challenge. Most importantly you must be committed to the educational vision and values of the Trust and be passionate about improving pupil’s life chances through the provision of the highest quality of education.
