We are looking for a qualified and experienced Chef work alongside the Senior Chefs to ensure the delivery of a first class, nutritious food offering to all customers. You need to be passionate about food and be able work on your own initiative or as part of a team. We produce around 1300 lunches and 250 breakfast and evening meals daily, Monday-Friday, and provide a full daily service to approximately 200 at weekends during term time. In addition you will cater for external business events and functions including weddings, christenings and evening events with parents.
We want staff who are committed to the highest standards and able to use their own initiative to deliver this. You should have previous experience in a high-volume trade and food production environment, but a willingness to learn fast and take accountability alongside a strong work ethic, a can-do attitude, and a willingness to pitch in is equally important. An understanding of safety and hygiene in a kitchen environment is paramount. You should be qualified to a minimum NVQ2 level.
The role will work on a shift roster with rosters planned half a term in advance to cover 6.00 am to 8.30 pm in term time (more standard hours during holiday periods) and working five days out of seven. Shift allowances are payable for this.
