Laurel Park is revolutionising school meals!

We are on a mission to change secondary school meal provision forever, providing restaurant quality food, in a positive environment that promotes healthy, nutritious eating along with the social aspect of dining together.

We need an inspirational Chef Du Partie to join us on our exciting journey to become a beacon of excellence in secondary school meal provision!

The Role:

Supported by the Chefs in Schools project, and our Head chef Educator, we are looking for a forward thinking, creative Chef du Partie, with a passion for quality produce and nutritional development, to run our school kitchen.

You will be responsible for work as part of a team preparing fresh, interesting and nutritious school meals for our students. Preparing of service areas and equipment in the service area for the efficient and effective delivery of meals and catering services. Cleaning of catering areas and kitchen equipment to the required standard.

Helping to develop innovative new menu items and food concepts, continuously developing the wider food offer with support from Chefs in Schools. To achieve a high level of quality and standards at all times regarding the food and hygiene, ensuring all health and safety procedures in relation to Catering are adhered to.

Supporting high quality teaching is pivotal in improving children’s outcomes.

Here at Laurel Park School your Training and Development is important to us. There are opportunities to develop and grow yourself and we encourage that you take positive steps to embrace these opportunities.

Every Wednesday afternoon the staff receive professional development training. The range of training on offer is vast including - supporting EAL students, Using Artificial Intelligence for reducing workload, safeguarding, managing behaviour, phonics and adaptive teaching strategies.  We meet termly to share good practice through Teach Meets and every teacher chooses a Teaching & Learning working group to develop a greater understanding of that area. These groups include foci like ‘raising achievement of boys’, ‘developing expectations for exercise books’ and ‘developing extended writing skills’.
