We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our dedicated catering team at Truro School.
As the Chef Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing the School’s catering provision, reporting directly to the Operations Director. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the catering department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality dining experience that meets the needs of our pupils, staff and wider school community.
The successful candidate will be responsible for menu planning, food preparation, purchasing and stock control, ensuring a nutritious, diverse and cost-effective catering service. You will lead and develop the catering team, maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, health and safety, and customer service at all times. The role also includes overseeing hospitality and events catering, working closely with clients and colleagues to deliver exceptional functions and special events, while supporting the strategic development of catering across the School.
You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with all food safety, allergen, health and safety and statutory requirements, whilst promoting sustainable working practices, minimising waste and maintaining effective budgetary control.
This position requires a flexible approach and will include occasional evening and weekend working to support School events and functions.
