EF Academy Torbay seeks to appoint a flexible, enthusiastic and innovative teacher, with energy and drive on a fixed term contract for the remainder of the 2020/21 academic year. The role will commence from January 2021 in the first instance but could be sooner by mutual agreement.

The primary qualities sought are a genuine passion for teaching and the strong subject knowledge required to teach Chemistry at A level and IGCSE Science in at least 2 disciplines. There will be the opportunity to teach IB for the right candidate and candidates with experience of either ESS or Chemistry on the IB are strongly encouraged to apply. There is a good degree of flexibility possible with the role for the right candidate.

A willingness to contribute to the wider co-curricular and community activity of a lively international boarding school situated in this beautiful part of the UK is essential.

The Science faculty is friendly and extremely well resourced, serviced by a full-time technician. Science is taught in 1 of 3 purpose-built laboratories and some dedicated Science classrooms. The faculty has an extensive extra-curricular programme which the successful candidate would be welcome, and encouraged, to contribute to.

Interested applicants should contact Rob Tasker, Head of School (rob.tasker@ef.com or 01803 202932) for an informal talk about the specific Chemistry and/or Science elements within the role and about the potential levels of flexibility possible for the successful candidate.

Closing date for applications is 12 noon on Monday 9th November.

Interviews will take place 12th & 13th November.

Salary: Extremely competitive due to being a fixed term contract.
