Chief Executive Job Description

Context of role: Head of BDSIP's Executive Team.

Line Manager: Chair of Board.

Responsible for: All Staff.

Role purpose: To lead the company, ensuring it is resourced and managed to deliver a range of advice and services to clients.

Normal place of work: Primarily office based in Dagenham with the option of some remote working as agreed.

Hours: Full time.

Salary: Competitive.

Role overview

The Chief Executive Officer is the most senior employee of the organisation and is responsible for.

  • Working with the Board to develop a strategy that reflects the mission, vision, and values of BDSIP and delivers the organisation's services across the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham ("LBBD") and beyond and in partnership, where appropriate, with other organisations.
  • Ensure all human and financial resources are managed properly and effectively.
  • Provide high quality leadership and develop a positive and inclusive organisational culture that promotes teamwork, creativity, and collaboration.
  • Promote the interests of BDSIP at local and national levels and forge strong links and partnerships with key stakeholders including LBBD and schools. Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the organisation, ensuring high quality services are delivered to clients and compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice.
  • Develop and improve the efficiency of the services within the organisation and across LBBD and beyond.
  • Ensure the financial stability and sustainability of the organisation through effective budgeting, resource management and financial controls.
  • Deliver regular and accurate reports to the Board to enable them to have clear oversight of the business performance, risks & issues.
