Job overview

Gloucestershire Learning Alliance currently has approximately 2,000 pupils and 300 staff engaged across eight schools, with a ninth in the planning phase and plans to grow further to benefit as many children as possible. We have a strong vision and history of delivering outstanding outcomes for children, supported by a clear and aligned education model and excellent school improvement strategy. Our culture is one of support and encouragement in order to get the best from everyone and for everyone. Continuous school improvement is based on collaborative working across all our schools, so that pupils benefit from the most effective teaching methods and teachers benefit from a range of professional development opportunities.

Our vision is quite simply to secure ‘outstanding outcomes for children’. We achieve this through our highly inclusive, supportive and collaborative practices in everything we do. We are an outward facing, forward looking Trust with an excellent reputation within the region. Exceptional relationships exist across the Trust’s eight schools with leaders working collaboratively towards a common goal. Our pupils are happy in their schools and make good progress as a result of teachers’ relentless focus on their progress and wellbeing.

The Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint an exceptional, highly experienced, inspirational, strategic thinker with a proven strong track record in educating young people, engaging talented teaching staff and delivering impactful school improvement. The successful candidate will demonstrate an affinity with our culture as well as the skills, knowledge and experience to lead the Trust through the next phase of successful learning outcomes and growth.

We will provide you with:

  • A cohesive family of schools with strong relationships between pupils and staff
  • Highly motivated, respectful pupils with a strong desire to learn
  • A committed, hard-working and very effective School Improvement Team
  • A highly skilled and talented Central Team
  • A commitment to high quality continuing professional development for you
  • A very supportive, highly committed Board of Trustees
