Job overview

Chief Executive Officer

Brigantia Learning Trust

£competitive, Sheffield

Brigantia Learning Trust brings together five learning establishments in north Sheffield that cover the full learning journey - from nursery through to sixth form. We serve a complex and diverse inner city community and are committed to improving life chances, and securing social mobility and social justice for children. Our new CEO will play a vital leadership role in building on our achievements to date, consolidating current strengths and ensuring the continued growth and vitality of our Trust.

This is a role that demands a versatile and collaborative approach, and a commitment to working in partnership within and beyond our Trust. You should have convincing leadership experience within an education setting and a track record of delivering school improvement in a complex and challenging environment. Your ability to engage, involve and deliver change through others will set you apart, and it’s essential that you share our vision for, and commitment to, delivering positive outcomes for children and young people.

It’s a career move that offers considerable scope for you to have a personal impact on the future success and growth of the Trust. We are clear about what we want to achieve but not prescriptive about how we get there. You’ll have the opportunity to shape your leadership team and align expertise and resources to where we can make the most difference to our students.

For more information, please visit www.leadbrigantia.co.uk. For an informal and confidential discussion, please contact Jo Fish or Raymond Kelly at Navigate, our recruitment partner on 0113 287 8445.

About Brigantia Learning Trust

Brigantia Learning Trust is a successful 2 - 18+ Academy Trust in the north of Sheffield. It was borne out of the success of Hinde House  3 - 16 School that was graded as strongly good by Ofsted in 2012 and 2016.

Currently, our Trust comprises Wincobank Nursery and Infant School  (2 - 7), Concord Junior School (7 - 11), Hinde House Primary School (2 - 11), Hinde House Secondary School (11 - 16) and Longley Park Sixth Form College (16 - 18+).

Our Trust is exceptionally well led and since our partnership began in 2014, all schools/colleges have either improved or maintained their Ofsted grade. 92% of students currently attend at least a good school.

Our priorities are to drive improvement in each school/college and further develop local strategic partnerships. In so doing, we aim to secure a coherent vision for education in our unique part of the city. We are deeply committed to the progression of our students into high quality training, higher education and work, and the development of our locality and city.

Ultimately, and most importantly, we wish to be an engine of community cohesion, aspiration, achievement, success and social mobility for every child we serve.
