Richmond Music Trust is a successful, flourishing and well-established music education provider working with children and young people, schools and the local community. We are looking for someone who is passionate about music education with the energy, vision, skills and ability to lead an independent Limited Company and Charity delivering a wide range of high quality, creative musical activity.

The new CEO will lead a team that delivers comprehensive music support to schools and provides opportunities for young musicians to fulfil their musical potential and develop their musical skills to the highest level. Over 5000 students a week learn to play a musical instrument through the Trust. RMT ensembles perform frequently at venues across the borough and tour regularly. Close links have recently developed with music schools across Europe.

Large scale events provide inspirational performance opportunities for hundreds of young musicians and singers every year. A thriving music therapy department delivers sessions to more than 250 clients each week at our in-house studio and through outreach work across neighbouring boroughs. RMT is the local Music Education Hub lead organisation and receives support from the DfE, the Arts Council and LBRuT.

The successful candidate will have:

  • the vision and energy to lead a creative and innovative independent organisation that has passion for music at its heart.
  • a proven track record of successfully leading music education.
