Job overview

ACS International Schools is a leading provider of high quality international education, operating schools (day and boarding) that enrol circa 3,500 students between the ages of 3 to 18 from around the world at campuses in the UK and Qatar, with total annual revenues of c. £75m. After 50 years as a successful commercial entity, ACS is committed to becoming a registered UK charity. This will open up further prospects for the growth and development of our schools, and additional opportunities to broaden the public benefit.

After four successful years the existing Chief Executive, Chris Johnson is stepping down from the position at the end of August 2017. The new appointee will have the opportunity to shape ACS as it prepares for the transition and will then lead the organisation as it pursues the additional growth and development opportunities that charitable status will present.

The new Chief Executive will have substantial leadership, business development and general management experience in a service and/or customer focused environment. Ideal candidates will have Board level experience and will be able to demonstrate their ability to build and manage a high performing senior team. Strategy planning, business execution and commercial acumen are essential and proven experience of optimising performance within a group environment is preferred. Previous experience in an education business would be ideal but is not essential.
